Made for kids

Power PopIt is built to Apple's “Made for Kids” guidelines, and privacy is not an add-on but the foundation. This website and the app ask for no names, no email addresses and no accounts.

Nicknames for leaderboards are exclusively GENERATED at random — there is deliberately no input field. A child therefore never types a real name, and no personal, user-generated names come into existence in the first place (no UGC). This is precisely why the anonymous nickname is a core privacy safeguard.

We build no user profiles and track no one across websites.

Hosting and server logs

The website runs on our own server in the European Union. When you open a page, the server processes technically necessary access data (requested page, time, browser type, shortened IP address) to deliver the page and keep the service secure.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are kept only briefly and are not combined with other data.

Analytics with Matomo

For anonymous analytics we use Matomo — self-hosted at matomo.dudehub.de, i.e. on our own infrastructure. No data is shared with third parties.

Matomo runs here deliberately WITHOUT cookies. Your IP address is anonymised, there is no cross-site tracking, and your browser's “Do Not Track” setting is respected. Because no personal profiles are created, no consent (no cookie banner) is required; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly statistics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Community shapes

If you submit your own Popit shape, only the shape itself (a grid of bubbles) and a title you choose are transmitted. No personal data is requested.

Every submission is reviewed by hand before publication (moderation). Unsuitable content is not approved.

No cookies, no third-party trackers

This website uses no advertising or analytics cookies, no social-media plugins and no third-party trackers. There is therefore nothing to consent to and nothing to decline.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, as well as the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
